Prof. dr hab. Przemysław Bąbel, organized a symposium "Three waves of psychotherapy for chronic pain: from laboratory research to intervention methods with proven effectiveness" as part of the International Scientific Conference: "Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy. Beyond Individual Psychotherapy” of the Polish Society of Cognitive and Behavioral Therapy named after Professor Zdzisław Bizoń, which took place on July 2-4, 2021. During the symposium, members of the Pain Research Group gave presentations: prof. dr hab. Przemysław Bąbel ("Learning and unlearning pain. Learning mechanisms of acquiring and modifying pain") and dr. Elżbieta Bajcar ("Behavioral techniques of modifying pain behavior"). The symposium program also included presentations by dr. Ewa Wojtyna from the Institute of Psychology of the University of Silesia in Katowice ("Application of cognitive-behavioral therapy in the treatment of chronic pain") and dr. Joanna Dudek from SWPS University of Humanities and Social Sciences in Warsaw ("Therapy of acceptance and involvement in chronic pain").
