Wacław Adamczyk, PhD


Wacław Adamczyk, PhD, is a physiotherapist and a neurobiologist. Currently, he is a member of the Pain Research Group at the Institute of Psychology of the Jagiellonian University and a research assistant in the Faculty of Physiotherapy at the Jerzy Kukuczka Academy of Physical Education in Katowice. His research focuses on perceptual distortions caused by acute and chronic pain states, learning mechanisms of pain formation and mechanisms of placebo effects. Clinical practice provides him with great satisfaction but is a main source of inspiration for his research projects as well. Generally, his clinical and scientific activities are aimed at promoting a biopsychosocial approach to the management of chronic pain. He enjoys running and reading in his spare time. An enthusiast of coffee, especially strong.
