Elżbieta Anita Bajcar, PhD, is an assistant professor of psychology at the Jagiellonian University in Kraków, Poland. Her professional interests focus on pain. She is involved in research projects on learning mechanisms of placebo analgesia and nocebo hyperalgesia and studies on the factors distorting the memory of pain. She is a principal investigator of the research project "Overcome the nocebo effect with the placebo effect. The use of learning processes to reverse nocebo hyperalgesia", funded by the National Science Center in Poland. She is a member of the Pain Research Group and the supervisor of the Pain Research Laboratory of the General Psychology Unit at the Institute of Psychology, Jagiellonian University. Elżbieta A. Bajcar is a founding member of the Polish Society for Behavioral Psychology. She likes Russian literature, theater, and traveling.
